About Us
Emu Creek Catchment Landcare Group inc (est. 1997) is a volunteer group of landowners who carryout on farm environmental work in the Emu Creek catchment.
Our main concerns are weeds, pasture decline, soil health and water quality.
The Group currently has 60 members with a management group of 11. We hold regular management group meetings as well as quarterly whole group meetings around the Catchment.
New members are welcome. Contact the Secretary for an application form.
Our current project on Cats Claw control funded by the Federal Govt “Caring for Country” program, is progressing in the upper catchment. The 2011 January floods shifted most of the massive infestation in the creek itself so we are now concentrating on scattered plants upstream.
We are also planning future activities involving Fire Management, Lantana and African Lovegrass control and soil health.
